This is true in all writing, but with a brochure or sales sheet on a property it is even more critical. The headline makes it worth the reader’s time to actually read what follows. It should touch an emotional hot button. Every type of buyer has one.

Remember, you’re not selling a building, you’re selling what people want.

Consider this example – a condominium development is well-designed, with beautiful one-story condos – that aren’t selling. A good audience for these would be empty nesters, older folks who don’t want to keep up a house and do want an easier place to live.

Here’s the headline that sold out the development in record time. “No stairs to climb.”
